"The Seven Fluidals"

Daniel Quevedo, Nicola Xavier, Lisa Slade and Professor John Boulton
at the Dawson Street soiree 20th August 2003

Samantha Cobcroft-Smith, soprano
Philip Sketchley, pianoforte

A private viewing of Michel Le Goff's lastest works, "The Seven Fluidals" was held in conjunction with an evening of music at the artist's home in Australia on Wednesday 20th August. Guests were treated to an elegant concert performed by leading local artists; the amazing young soprano Samantha Cobcroft-Smith was accompanied by Philip Sketchely, Concert Hall Manager of the Newcastle Conservatorium and an accomplished pianist in his own right. Samantha sang selections from Purcell, Handel, Caccini and Faure. Le Goff's paintings formed a stunning backdrop to the performance.

Samantha Cobcroft-Smith's recording of  Richard Peter Maddox's compositions is available in CD with the Move Label.
Samantha's PhD thesis in progress at the University of Newcastle is entitled :
Female Vocal Writing in Operas of the Late 18th Century
